Civil Defence Uniform has many manifestations. In several roles the dress is defined by the activity, e.g. boats, firefighting. Specialised clothing for specific roles are included in the appropriated sections. The more general uniforms are shown here.

Dress Uniform

Also known as No.1's, worn by volunteers. Rank markings (if any) are worn on the epaulettes. The green shoulder flashes on the shoulders are county badges ( left shoulder as Gaeilge, right shoulder in English), while the orange one on the right shoulder is the international Civil Defence symbol.

Senior officers wear a peaked cap instead of a beret and shoes substituted for boots.
