The Stradbally base is located at Ballyroan Rd. in the town and is the largest building occupied by Laois Civil Defence. It contains two vehicle garages, a lecture room, offices, communications facilities, a kitchen and a stores room.

Because of its facilities, it is used for county training courses and vehicles are stored there if not in use.

There is also unit based here, comprising 2 officers and 5 volunteers, who train in Rescue and First-Aid.
