Proword Meaning
Acknowledge Instruction to a station on a net to acknowledge that it has heard a message which may not have been specifically addressed to it.
All After / All Before Used with reference to a catchword or phrase when requesting or giving repetitions or corrections.
All Stations A call for all stations on a net.
Answer after Instructing a newly joined station in which order he is to answer calls.
Call Sign The group that follows is a call sign.
Cancel Used when a sender wishes to cancel a message or transmission.
Correct You are correct.
Difficult Communication is workable only with difficulty. Care and extra measures are needed.
Fetch Use in conjunction with an appointments title, to indicate to whom the caller wishes to speak with.
Figures Used before groups of figures sent by digit, except in the case of Call Signs, Grid References, Time Checks and Date Time groups.
From Used by relaying station to indicate the station originating the message.
From....To Used to identify part of a message.
Grid Used when giving a grid reference.
Hello Used as an introduction in an initial call and also as a warning that a transmission is about to follow.
I Read Back Used by receiving station to satisfy himself that he has received a transmission or portion of it correctly.
I Say Again Used by a sender when making repetitions for emphasis.
I Spell Used when spelling out a word or letter group.
Message Offer of an unregistered message that needs to be written down.
Nothing Heard Indication that no signals have been received from a particular station.
O.K. Communications satisfactory for working
Origin The group that follows is the date time group at which the message was originated.
Out This is the end of my transmission. No reply is expected.
Over This is the end of my transmission to you. A reply or acknowledgement is required. Go ahead and transmit.
Read Back Order to a station to repeat back a message exactly as received.
Roger I have received your last transmission satisfactorily.
Say Again or Repeat Request for repetition of all or portions indicated of a message.
Send You have permission to transmit your offered message.
Speaking Used in conjunction with an appointment title to indicate who is speaking.
Time The group that follows is the date time group.
Wait or Stand By I must pause for up to five seconds before replying. No other station is to transmit during this period even if my set is not transmitting.
Wait Out Your transmission is received, a further transmission on the same subject will follow later.
Wilco Message received, understood and will be complied with.
Word after / Word Before Used to identify part of a message.
Wrong, (I say again) What has been said is wrong. The correct version is ......
