The Civil Defence organisation in Ireland celebrated
its fiftieth anniversary in 2000, and its "Emergency"
predecessors go back further.

on the subject in 2000 to mark the 50th anniversary,
written by Padraic O'Farrell.
This site has been around in one form or another
since 1998 so its evolution will also get a mention.
