- The County Camp for Laois took place this year in the historic settings of Fort Camden in Crosshaven, Co. Cork. As well as the Laois contingent, it was attended by personnel from Kildare C.D. and Limerick C.D. The main emphasis on the camp was on heights rescue and comprehensive demonstrations were given in this activity by personnel from No.1 Base. After the demonstrations everybody who wanted to could give it a try. This lasted a fair while due to the interest in it. The social element was not forgotten either, and the Fancy Dress Party went down well. A team from No.3 Base won the table quiz, and Paddy Holland from same, ran away with the Sports activities, winning three events.
