Three members of Laois Civil Defence are undertaking an Advanced First Aid Course at No.2 Base, Stradbally currently. The course which has been taking place weekly since early October 2001 has a few more months to run.

F/O John Bergin EMT is the instructor and the course concentrates on extending and developing the Basic and Intermediate First Aid skills of the students.

Basic First Aid refresher courses are currently underway throughout the county, and plans are in place to run further Intermediate and Advanced courses later in the year.
