- Laois Civil Defence units have been assisting with implementing disinfection procedures throughout the county over the past few days as part of the national effort to prevent any occurrences of Foot & Mouth Disease. This has involved setting up and maintaining disinfectant mats and foot-baths at public buildings such as schools and libraries. These efforts will continue for as long as the current situation lasts.
