- Karen Chew from Eircell presented Laois Civil Defence with an Ericsson R250s PRO rugged mobile cellphone earlier today. The presentation took place in the Civil Defence control room in County Hall, Portlaoise. It was accepted by Laois C.D.O. Michael Cobbe. The 'phone is specially designed for the types of conditions experienced in Civil Defence operations, i.e. almost idiot-proof!
