- Laois Civil Defence Instructors have implemented new training arrangements. These involve starting weekly training sessions at No.1 Base, Stradbally. The reasons for this are to make full use of the training facilities at Stradbally, and to allow all members of Laois Civil Defence train as a group. The training will take place on Friday evenings between 2000hrs and 2200hrs. It therefore means that No. 3 Base training will now take place once monthly on Sunday afternoons.

The training programme will consist of two subjects per evening.

February 9th. Introduction to the new programme & Warden training.

February 16th. Basic Rescue Training & Rescue from Heights.

February 23rd. Radiocommunications & Warden Training.

March 2nd. First aid & Ambulance Training.
