- It was announced this evening that the survival exercise previously announced for 26/27 June will consist of four exercises in various skills and a hike. The exact form of the exercises was not revealed, the phrase "you'll find out when you see them" was used. It is believed the exercise will take place on one of the hills outside Durrow.

- Laois Civil Defence will have an involvement at this year's Abbeyleix Food Fair which is to be held at Heywood Community School on July 4th. This will mainly involve traffic managment.
