Main > Units > Sub County No.3 Base Durrow

The Durrow base is located near the town square, on the Cork road. The building was formerly the town Fire Station. In 2001 the building was re-roofed and an internal refurbishment took place. In 2002 the new yellow paint scheme was applied, currently a structure to house the fire appliance is being added. To the rear of the building there is a yard which is used for training.

The unit has a current membership of around 35, with three officers, 3 leaders and 29 volunteers. Rescue, AFS, Casualty and Warden training takes place at No.3 Base. The unit has a catchment area throughout South County Laois.

Durrow is the base for the county AFS appliance and team and the K9 unit is also based there.
