It is important when using radios that the message
is clearly understood in the least possible time.
To ensure this certain conventions are used. These
include the Phonetic Alphabet which helps to reduce
confusion caused by similar sounding letters, and
Prowords, which convey an exact meaning from one
user to another.
- Radiocommunication Tips
- Talk across the microphone instead of directly
into it.
- Wait a second after pressing "Transmit"
before speaking.
- Compose the message before you send it.
- Operate handportables with the antenna vertical,
this gives better transmission.
